Yep, you got that right. Come August, the Mister will be Professor Mister.
We will be moving 8.05% of the way around the world, God willing (that last phrase is a little something I picked up in West Africa, where it is considered presumptuous to assume anything about the future).
Where exactly is that, you ask? Well, here’s a few hints.
- The distance from Annapolis, MD to this city is 2004 miles.
- The typical air quality of this region is 1 (on a scale of 0-100, 100 being best).
- Famous former residents of this state include Cesar Chavez, Kerri Strug, and Charles Mingus.
- Household pests we may encounter include scorpions, roof rats, and rhinocerous beetles.
- It is sunny 300 days out of the year.
- The highest and lowest points in the state are, respectively, 12,633 ft and 70 ft.
We will be skulking around and causing our usual havoc somewhere near latitude 33.542 N, longitude 112.071 W
Most of the information for this post came from here and here.
We’re excited!

Yessssssss!
This is so exciting. I have never been to Phoenix, but I promise to come visit and soak up the sunshine.
I’m pretty darn proud of Mr. Professor!

Woot! Hey, my corporate office headquarters are in Phoenix and I may have opportunities to travel there for business and visit you. Cool! Congratulations!

Dangit! I was so pulling for Pullman. :(((
But, no wonder it lost out. I can’t recall any buggies that could in any way compete with all that. Except drunken frat guys. Ewwwww. And Phoenix probably has its fair share of those.
(Congrats, Mister!)

Congratulations to Professor Mister! I’m so glad for you two that the process has come to an end.

Thanks everyone. I’m pretty excited too, although I’m still trying to wrap my mind around the idea of living in Phoenix. It’s really nice to be off the job market. Now I have to finish that dissertation!

Congratulations!!
Does this mean that if I come to Phoenix in late October for a baseball tournament, I can say Hi?

Crongratulations Gary! We were hoping for just a little closer to Newberg, but we might just have to be watching flights to Phoenix. Good luck on the dissertation.

Wow! Looks like we’re going to have to get a bigger place. Come one, come all. It’s so cool to have old friends visit soon after you move somewhere. They take the edge off the New Place Lonelies. If you come, we’ll do our best to protect you from the scorpions. Lisa, by October, I’ll probably know where the post office and the grocery store are, and that’s it. But it would still be fun to get together. We can examine the produce aisle at the very least.
