Another job interview tomorrow (Friday). This one is for a position that pays well but only has the most tenuous connections to my work experience. I got the interview because someone I’d met recommended me. Mentally, I will be like a bush in springtime. Willowy, swaying in the breeze, reaching first this way and then that, summoning the hummingbirds and insects. Conversationally, I will be like Judy Garland singing in a musical. Appealing, with great range and a few dance steps. It will all be lovely, I’m sure. A dancing musical springtime shrubbery extravaganza.

Well, it just went ok. They only had three people on their list so I guess I have a fairly good chance of making into the top two. The person who recommended that I apply actually turned out to be on the interviewing committee. Unfortunately, I had a migraine that sort of put a damper on my usual interviewing skillz. I also had some big gaps in my experience (hi-tech manufacturing, anyone?) that kept rearing their ugly heads during the conversation. We’ll see. It’s also a 40 minute drive to the workplace.
