Lions and tigers and bears, oh my! It’s been eventful. More details later.
1. More job interviews, looking good!
2. Failed 3-mile, 2-hr, 2500 ft. climb to Quartz peak. We were on a time limit.
3. Unfortunate merge attempt by speeding driver two cars back, into our traffic-completely-stopped lane. Tally: 1 truck totalled, 1 truck severely damaged, 1 person in ambulance with probably minor injuries, 1 sore neck (mine), 1 Subaru somewhat mushed in the back. *SIGH*
4. Dr. G kindly purchased Froot Loops for me. I heart Froot Loops. I once wrote a sestina about Froot Loops. Actually, I like the idea of Froot Loops better than the reality. They’re so flourescent! One shouldn’t eat such brightly colored food. And yet, I do.
5. Mid-70’s every day. Mix of sun and rain.
6. Finally, finally, got the Corpse Flower in the mail. I ordered it in september. Yay!

I’m so glad you linked to #6. I thought it was a real flower, and I clicked only with some trepidation.

And . . . I’m sorry to hear about your accident!

Whew! I knew what a corpse flower was, and started seriously questioning your sanity in wanting to plant one. (It would show a great sense of rootedness, i suppose — they bloom, what, twice a century?)
You are so right on about Froot Loops! That’s EXACTLY what’s compelling about them. (the fluorescence) That, and I think I read once (as a kid) that they were the absolutely sugariest (and therefore worst, according to whatever study this was) kids’ cereal in existence. Yet another reason to heart them.
I hope the annoying grind of car repair, and being without a car, and dealing with insurance, etc., isn’t too … grindy.

sadly, we’re going to be out about 1500 bucks. the other driver was uninsured and our deductible is (obviously) high. SIGH. Again.

OH NO!! Out $1500?? Ack. Was it the guy directly behind you (who, if I recall correctly, wasn’t really at fault) who didn’t have insurance, or the almost-red light runner behind him? Seems to me that the guy at the end of the line should have to foot the bill.

It’s the guy at the end of the line who had no insurance. Alas and alack. Thanks for the sympathy. I’m trying not to make a big deal about it but with every event I see my dream of buying a house floating away. I’ll get over it.
